The first step in running a business God’s way is to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Until you have accepted Him into your heart and life and are willing to submit your life to His rule, you might very well be able to run a business profitably and reliably over the years, but you will not be able to fulfill God’s purposes for your business because God will not be at the helm. Fulfilling God’s purposes for business should define success above everything else for your business.
A vibrant and genuine relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ is visceral to working through the rest of the Christian Business Reference Architecture (CBRA). So my first question to you is simple: have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord?
To ask Jesus Christ to come into your life is to admit that you have sinned against God, that He died for your sins, that He rose from the dead to break the power of sin and death in your life and mind, and that you freely give your will and life to Jesus for whatever remaining days you have on this earth. Personally, I have a hard time understanding how someone can accept Jesus Christ as their Savior without also accepting Him as their Lord. From my perspective, it seems to me that when you accept Christ as your Savior, you are also committing your life to follow Him, to making Him the Lord of your life.
If you have never made a conscious decision to bring Jesus Christ into your heart, then you can do so right now simply by praying and asking Him to come into your life. There’s no magic formula for the type of prayer that you need to pray, nor is there any special wording that would make one prayer better than another. As always, God looks at what is in our hearts when we utter our prayers; He understands and knows the condition of your heart and mind. But if you do want to ask Jesus Christ into your heart and life today, here are some suggested phrases that you can use as you pray:
- Lord, I admit that I have sinned against You and that I need Your forgiveness
- I believe that You died for my sins
- Jesus I ask You to come into my life
- I ask You to forgive my sins
- I give You the rest of my life
If this is the first time you have ever asked Christ to come into your life, I would encourage you to find someone and tell them that you just accepted Christ as your Savior and Lord. I would also strongly urge you to become part of a church that preaches the Bible every Sunday so that you can begin to grow in your faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ. If you would like to connect with me about your decision to accept Christ as your Savior and Lord, you can do so by filling out the contact information at www.bibleandbusiness.com or sending me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
